In the first part the control of the spontaneous emission in the strong coupling regime was studied. Therefore suitable optical organic 'semiconductor' microcavities were prepared. First, the used optically active material, the J-aggregate PIC, was spectroscopically investigated. Transmission measurements revealed vacuum-Rabi-Splitting-energies between 26 and 52 meV. The vacuum-Rabi-Splitting-energy was studied as a function of the spatial position of the optically active layer inside the cavity. It could be shown by a simulation, that the reason for the asymmetric vacuum-Rabi-Splitting at 0 meV detunig is the asymmetric absorption spectrum. Further, the photoluminescene of the microcavities were studied. Temperature dependent measurements revealed, that the high energy band is populated further relatively to the low energy band with increasing temperature according to a boltzmann-distribution.In the second part the optical properties of thin films of N´N´Bis (2,6-xylyl)perylene-3,4:9,10-bis(dicarboximide) (DPP-PTCDI) depending on the thickness of the films were studied. The photoluminescence spectra of the films were with increasing film thickness dominated by a new low-energy band. This band can be assigned to a trap emission. In photoluminescence excitation spectra, it was shown, that the traps exists in the ground state. Therefore, excimers could be excluded as origin of the traps.
