On Sandwiched Singularities

Abstract

Sandwich-Singularitäten sind die Singularitäten auf derNormalisierung von Aufblasungen eines regulärenFlächenkeimes. In der Arbeit wird ein enger Zusammenhangzwischen Topologie und Deformationstheorie vonSandwich-Singularitäten einerseits und ebenenKurvensingularitäten andererseits dargestellt. NeueErgebnisse betreffen u.a. Deformationen vonnulldimensionalen komplexen Räumen in der Ebene, die durchvollständige Ideale beschrieben werden, z.B. wann'simultanes Aufblasen' der Fasern einer solchen Deformationmöglich ist. Zudem werden Glättungskomponenten und dieKollar-Vermutung für Sandwich-Singularitäten untersucht undim Zusammenhang damit numerische Kriterien für die Frage, obdie symbolische Algebra einer Raumkurve endlich erzeugt ist.

Sandwiched Singularities are singularities on thenormalization of a blowup of a regular surface. In thethesis a close connection between the topology anddeformation theory of sandwiched singularities and planecurve singularities is being described. New results concernvarious topics, including deformations of zero-dimensionalcomplex spaces defined by a complete ideal in the plane,e.g. the problem whether the blowups in the fibres of such adeformation belong to a flat family is solved. Furthermore,smoothing components and the Kollar conjecture are studied.In connection with the last point, a generalization ofpreviously known results on when the symbolic algebra of aspace curve is finitely generated is given.
