| dc.description.abstract | Diese Dissertation stellt das neu entwickelte SystemRelAndXML vor, das für das Management und dieSpeicherung von hypertextzentrierten XML-Dokumenten und dendazugehörenden XSL-Stylesheets spezialisiert ist. DerAnwendungsbereich sind die Vorlesungsmaterialien anUniversitäten. RelAndXML speichert die XML-formatiertenÜbungsblätter in Textbausteinen und weiterenTeilen in einer speziellen Datenbank.Die Speicherung von XML-Dokumenten in Datenbanken ist seiteinigen Jahren ein wichtiges Thema der Datenbankforschung.Ansätze dafür gliedern sich in solche fürdatenzentrierte und andere für dokumentenzentrierteDokumente. Die Dissertation präsentiert einen Ansatzzur Speicherung von hypertextzentrierten XML-Dokumenten, derAspekte von datenzentrierten und dokumentenzentriertenAnsätzen kombiniert. Der Ansatz erlaubt dieWiederverwendung von Textbausteinen und speichert dieReihenfolge dort, wo sie wichtig ist. Mit RelAndXML könnennicht nur Elemente gespeichert werden, wie mit einigenanderen Ansätzen, sondern auch Attribute, Kommentareund Processing Instructions. Algorithmen für dieFragmentierung und Rekonstruktion von Dokumenten werdenbereit gestellt.RelAndXML wurde mit Java und unter Verwendung einerobjektrelationalen Datenbank implementiert. Das System hateine graphische Benutzungsoberfläche, die das Erstellenund Verändern der XML- und XSL-Dokumente, dasEinfügen von neuen oder schon gespeichertenTextbausteinen sowie das Erzeugen von HTML-Dokumenten zurVeröffentlichung ermöglicht. | de_DE |
| dc.description.abstract | This dissertation presents the newly invented systemRelAndXML for the management and storage ofhypertext-centric XML documents and the according XSLstylesheets. Our sample application area is the coursematerial at university. RelAndXML saves the XML formattedassignments as text modules and remaining parts in a specialdatabase.Storing XML documents in databases has been a major topic indatabase research in the last few years. Approaches on thistopic concentrate on data-centric or on document-centricdocuments. This dissertation introduces a hypertext-centricapproach that combines aspects of data-centric as well asdocument-centric approaches. It enables the reuse of textmodules and preserves document order where necessary.Another important feature of RelAndXML is that it supportsnot only XML elements, but also attributes, comments, andprocessing instructions. Algorithms for the fragmentationand reconstruction of documents are provided.RelAndXML is a Java-implemented system using anobject-relational database. It provides a graphical userinterface which allows to create and update the XML and XSLparts of hypertext documents, to insert new or saved textmodules, and to generate HTML or XHTML output documents. | en_GB |
