Formale Struktur, Narrativitaet und Wahrnehmung des Zuschauers

Abstract

Die vorliegende Arbeit untersucht, wie sich Greenaways Filme selbstreflexiv zur Problematik des filmischen Mediums stellen, d.h. wie der Illusions- und Artefaktcharakter des Films im Film selbst thematisiert wird. Die Untersuchung der Selbstreflexion wird konkret unter drei Untersuchungsaspekten erfolgt, nämlich die systematisch und künstlich organisierte formale Struktur, die Narrativität und die Wahrnehmungsweise des Zuschauers. Greenaways Filme veranschaulichen auf der formalen Ebene:· daß die Filmbilder diskontinuierlich und uneinheitlich sind, · wie einzelnen visuellen, akustischen und technischen Zeichen systematisch und künstlich organisiert sind und schließlich· wie die diskontinuierlichen und uneinheitlichen Filmbilder durch die systematische und künstliche Organisation der Zeichen kontinuierlich und einheitlich wirken. Seine Filme thematisieren auch auf der allegorischen, symbolischen und metaphorischen Ebene das Verhältnis zwischen der formalen Struktur, der Geschichte und der interaktiven Wahrnehmungsweise des Zuschauers, und die Beziehung zwischen dem Zuschauer, dem Film, dem Filmemacher. Die männliche Hauptfigur metaphorisiert den Zuschauer. Die Frauenfiguren allegorisieren die zwei Seiten des Films, die Form und den Inhalt des Films. Die sexuelle Beziehung zwischen der männlichen Hauptfigur und den Frauen umfaßt auf der metaphorischen Ebene die Interaktivität des Zuschauers mit dem Film.

This Thesis examines how Greenaway s films place themselves to the problem of the cinematic medium, i.e. how the illusion character and the artifact character of the film are brought up for discussion. The examination of the self reflection takes place under three aspects, i.e. the systematically and artificially organized formal structure, the narration and the perception way of the spectator. Greenaway s films illustrate on the formal level:· that the film pictures are non-continuous and are non-uniform, · how are organized each visual, acoustic and technical signs of the film pictures systematically and artificially · how the illusion of continuity and uniformity of the non-continuous and non-uniform film pictures result from the systematic and artificial organization of the signs. His films films bring up for discussion also on the allegorischen, symbolic and metaphorical level the relationship between the formal structure, the story and the interactive perception way of the spectator, and the relationship between the spectator, the film and the film maker. The male central figure is the metaphor for the spectator. The women's figures are the allegory for two sides of the film, the form and the content of the film. The sexual affair between the male central figure and the women encloses the interactivity of the spectator with the film at the metaphoric level.
